New camera from Arca Swiss: the Pico

That's what I'm seeing (minus a small diff in color science). And I get that it's not going to make any real difference with web viewing. I have a new toy, though, and it's always interesting to compare. Will the investment make any difference at all in what my clients are seeing in the final...

New camera from Arca Swiss: the Pico

Running a bit OT, but brand new GFX 100 II vs the A7r4. So very similar. Perhaps the limiting factor is my 24 TS-e II? So if the Fuji only really excels with their 30mm TS, then I have to question using it on the Pico with Canon glass. More explorations to come. I'm off to Columbus, IN for...

New camera from Arca Swiss: the Pico

Victor, I can use the A7r3 on the Rotafoot with Canon glass (just barely). The A7cr looks to have the smallest grip, so that may be my next body. Problem is, my inner child wants the GFX 100 II. Maybe I'll get both, play for a while then sell off whatever doesn't work. John, thanks... I...

Light weight, rigidity and precision. Same.

New camera from Arca Swiss: the Pico

They do have Copal 0 boards available for the Pico. And for those who've asked, no there won't be a Pico Canon mount board. Their modified TS-e lenses remove the rear mechanics, shortening the lenses and likely making them easier to focus at infinity on the system. I've been down the...

New camera from Arca Swiss: the Pico

If I stay with the M2, I might try out the A7cr, which seems to have less of a grip and decent resolution. Rod has said that they will consider additional lens modifications if there is enough interest. I believe what I really want is the Pico with a GFX 100. I just don’t know if the combo is...

New camera from Arca Swiss: the Pico

I'm in an absolute quandary right now. I shelved my M2 when I upgraded from the A7r3 to the A7r4... the 4 sadly being incompatible with the view camera. I was fine using tilt/shift lenses for the last 3-4 years, but I pulled the Arca back out last month, reverted to my dusty R3 and have been...

Phase One IQ3 100mp. Shipping now. Full frame CMOS. HDMI.

Agreed. While I am really intrigued with this new back, especially anxious to see the results of a 16bit pipeline... 100mb is much more than I need for my commercial work and less than I want for my personal work. For my art work, I'm currently shooting 4x10 color neg and drum scanning at 4k...

    Fun With Sony Cameras

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them) Distorted, cropped, striaghened and what not... the Mk2 still has pixels to spare.

Canon TS lenses on A7 bodies

Check out this job I shot recently for a brochure. It's all on the A7rII with Canon glass. Most of the tight shots were with the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM. Autofocus via the Metabones was awesome. I also used the 17-40 and the 17 TS-e quite a bit. Ok, actually, some of that was on the...

Canon TS lenses on A7 bodies

The TS-e's function similarly on the view camera and the MetaBones. With longer lenses, what's a little different about the view camera setup as opposed to a film or digital back view camera is that I typically see vignetting in the opposite corner of where I would expect it. So... if I'm...

Canon TS lenses on A7 bodies

I've been using them for at least a year on dozens of commercial shoots without issue. Lately, more with the view camera, but the Metabones has been great too. Mine is the MkIII without the flocking. The Mk IV is supposed to reduce internal reflections better.

    HCam Master TS 11-24mm

Do you happen to have a center crop (unshifted image) from the Leica? That would help give a sense of how much shift is available with it's image circle. Thanks! Chris Edit: here's what I've extrapolated based on the frame lines at the outer image circle. Let me know if this is incorrect...

    Capture One rotation when tethered

Ben, I've cross posted this to LuLa since Phase One dealers hang out there and hopefully will have a solution. http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=105223.0

    Capture One rotation when tethered

I've head this issue when shooting in studio (straight down) or with Architecture (straight up). The camera literally doesn't know which way is up when you have it perfectly leveled and pointing up or down. For me, it was with Phase One backs. When I correct the rotation in Capture 1, the...
